James May Has To Sell His Car For The Weirdest Reason

Imagine this:

'I need to sell my car.'

'Why's that?'

'Because I've become allergic to it.'

Um...?!

Confused man

Bizarrely that's exactly what's happened to The Grand Tour presenter James May, whose 1972 Rolls-Royce Corniche is due to be auctioned next month.

"If I drive it for more than half an hour I start itching, and then have to boil all my clothes," he recently wrote on DriveTribe.

After wanting the luxury car for many years, he finally bought it in 2008. It was part of a challenge on Top Gear to buy a luxury car for the price of a family saloon. To this day it's in fantastic condition and amazingly, it's passed all of its recent MOTs!

It's estimated it could fetch up to £30,000 when it goes under the hammer at Bonhams auction at the Goodwood Members' Meeting on 19th March. This is partly helped by its celebrity ownership and the fact that it's being auctioned at the world's largest car show.
