Ah, Christmas. It's the most wonderful time of the year. Lights are twinkling all around, food is consumed with gleeful abandon, and merriment is rife.
Except, let's be honest, driving anywhere at this time of year is a bit of a pain in the neck. It's dark and wet, and the roads are jam-packed with people wrapped up in a frenzy of shopping and doing the pre-Christmas rounds. Ugh.
So we've compiled our list of the ultimate Christmas songs to keep your festive cheer levels topped up to the max and turn your traffic jam into a traffic JAM! We're nice like that.
Psst... Wizzle's also on Spotify!
Christmas in L.A, Vulfpeck
This one's a firm favourite in the office, and it's also a bit different to the usual Christmas songs you'll be familiar with. That's right, we like to mix it up here at Wizzle.Driving Home for Christmas, Chris Rea
I mean, how could this not be on the list? Magically nostalgic and also, let's face it, it's right there in the name. Except it should be called 'Driving Absolutely Anywhere (Even Just to Asda) for Christmas' - that's how much this gets played in my car.Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End), The Darkness
Guaranteed to have your passengers busting out their air-guitars in no time. An absolute banger.Sleigh Ride, The Ronettes
I definitely don't drive along pretending I'm in Santa's sleigh when I listen to this. That would be ridiculous. In Dulci Jubilo, Mike Oldfield
For legal reasons I'm obliged to warn you that this song may make you want to bounce in your chair, which can be dangerous while driving. If you're the driver, try to keep your merriment to a minimum. We don't want any accidents on our hands.A Spaceman Came Travelling, Chris de Burgh
Best enjoyed by singing along as loudly and off-key as possible.Do They Know It's Christmas?, Band Aid (1984)
See previous.Fairytale of New York, The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl
This is everyone's favourite really isn't it?All I Want For Christmas Is You, She & Him
Partly because we're all sick of the Mariah Carey version, but more because She & Him's entire 2016 Christmas album
is, quite honestly, complete and utter perfection. Festive, but in a mellow way, as opposed to the usual jingle bell-tastic assault on the ears.Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Michael Bublé
Because no Christmas playlist would be complete without a bit of Bublé.Merry Christmas Everyone, Shakin' Stevens
Don't judge me, but this is totally my jam. It's got everything: a catchy tune, shoobee-doobee-doobee-doo-waps (shut up, that's a proper musical term!), and an epic key change. Pump up the volume and give this some welly!
