2016 is on track to beat the record for car sales in 2015, with 1,599,159 registrations for far this year, which is already around 44,000 more than the amount registered at the same time in 2015. But what cars have been the bestselling of the year so far? Read on to find out!
- Ford Fiesta
Topping the charts is the ever popular Ford Fiesta with 71,823 registrations, a great all-rounder! It doesn’t just top the charts, but clears it, with the next competitor for the top spot sitting around 24,000 sales behind! Its
- Vauxhall Corsa
Sitting in second place is the Vauxhall Corse, offering an economically friendly car with quality interiors, there is no wonder that it has found its way into the top 10, reaching a total of 47,962 registrations so far in 2016.
- Ford Focus
Although the Ford Focus didn’t see the greatest start to the year, it has pulled its way back up into the top spots in the past few months. A very popular choice for families, this hatchback drives well, with 43,626 registrations.
- Volkswagon Golf
The Volkswagen Golf sets a standard for other hatchback rivals to compete against, with high-quality interiors, engaging handling and a smooth ride. The Golf may have been around since the 70’s but is certainly not showing its age, having sat amongst the best selling cars in the country pretty much since its release.
- Nissan Qashqai
Again, an economically friendly choice, the Qashqai had a great year in 2015, but is still beating last year’s figures with a total of 38,183 registrations in 2016.
- Vauxhall Astra
With the new British built Mk7 only being released last year, the Astra is another great all-rounder, the ground-breaking technology sets this car aside from the rest, offering a comfortable and efficient drive paired with a sleek style leading to its 33,345 registrations.
- Volkswagen Polo
Another Volkswagen entry to the charts, and it is no surprise that this beautifully built car is a favourite, with 31,112 registrations so far this year. The low running costs and high-quality finishes give you an offer that is hard to refuse.
- MINI – 26,533
A strong comeback during the months of June and July meant that the Mini sits within the top 10 best-selling cars of 2016. People love to buy into the brand’s quality and the classic looks.
- Vauxhall Mokka – 25,783
The butch beauty of this car is the biggest selling point; the smooth shape contrasts with an element of muscle to create the Mokka. Coming with a great long list of standard equipment and an economically friendly element, this car has seen 25,783 registrations this year, proving a popular option as a small SUV.
- Mercedes C-Class – 25,084
This upmarket option gives you a supremely comfortable ride in a stylish car, although hitting a disappointing spring time for sales, the summer months have lead the car back on track with 25,084 registrations, ensuring its place within the top 10!
