Sir Terry Wogan was a legend in many a person’s eye and enjoyed a sparkling and long-lived career on our screens. So it will come as little to surprise to know that his classic BMW being up for auction recently caused quite a stir among those looking to pick up a slice of history for themselves.
The car currently has 75,000 miles on the clock and is reported to drive like a dream, so the successful bidder of the green three-door 8 Series with light grey nappa leather trim was certainly expected to catch the eyes of auction attendees!
The price estimation set by the auctioneers was between £8,000 and £15,000, with the bidding getting underway at a modest £7,000.
Pippa Kidson-Trigg, director of the auctioneer’s business behind selling the car says that Sir Terry bought it for his wife Lady Helen in 2006 and they owned the vehicle for around seven years. It was first registered to BMW Bracknell in 2005.
We’re still waiting to find out what the final fee for the car was when it went under the hammer at the end of last week, but we’ll be sure to update you as soon as we know! In the meantime, if you are now thinking, sell my car
? That sounds like a good idea, then why not take a look at what the Wizzle app can do for you?
