Over the years, Britain really has produced some beautiful cars, which are instantly recognisable to even the untrained eye.
For the same price as a new Nissan Qashqai, you could pick up one of these five iconic British cars, which may make you reconsider your options.Bentley Arnage 4.4 (1999-2010)
For under £20,000, you could be the proud owner of a Bentley! The Arnage packs a 4.4-litre V8 engine which is capable of going from 0-60mph in only 6.2 seconds. All of this power is contained within a graceful package, with interiors boasting plenty of fine wood and lambswool, which creates an environment you will be reluctant to leave!
This could all be yours for as little as £15,000. Admittedly, you will be looking at a model from the late 90’s, but they will often only have around 70,000 on the clock, meaning you’ll still have plenty of time to enjoy them.Aston Martin DB7 (1994-2004)
That’s right, you can pick up an Aston, which for many people will be enough! Once again, you’ll be treated to plenty of leather and wood on the inside. The ride is a bit tight for both the driver and the passengers, but you’re in a DB7…
The DB7 packs 335bhp, which means it is capable of going 0-60mph in as little as 5.6 seconds. It is a true British icon, and will still turns heads on the road to this day. Pricing is currently on the rise, but there are 1998 models out there with 80,000 on the clock for just under £20,000.Range Rover Sport 4.2 (2005-2013)
When you think of a classic British car, a Range Rover usually springs to mind. The Range is a quality all-rounder, and the 2005 arrival of the Sport model helped to add improved road handling to the legendary off-road status.
Packing a 4.2-litre V8 engine and 385bhp, these beasts can still shift it on the road. Once again, when you step inside the cabin you are greeted with luxury and space in abundance. A nine-year-old Range Rover HSE with just under 70k on the clock has been spotted for £11,000, which is a bit of a bargain don’t you think?TVR Cerbera 4.2 (1996-2003)
Yet another British model packing a V8 under the hood, this time in the shape of a 4.2-litre model. This gives you 360bhp, so you’re looking at around 180mph as a top speed. You will also get a very distinctive look for your money, which will get heads turning (once you find how to get in the car; there’s a door release button by the wing mirror).
There was a 20-year-old model on the market for under £17,000, but it had only done 25,000, so not a bad return for your money.Jaguar XFR (2007-2015)
The Jaguar XFR was built using a limited budget, but it certainly outshone many of its closest rivals, such as the BMW M5.
In classic Jag style, the handling is second-to-none, being firm yet compliant and comfortable. It also has over 500bhp under the bonnet, and certainly has a classy interior to go with it. Just over £17,000 can net you a six-year-old model with average mileage, but you could probably unearth a gem with a bit more searching.
